– Lebkuchen: Lebkuchen, a type of German gingerbread, is usually sold in the form of shaped cookies or cakes. They can be covered with sugar or chocolate glaze.

– Stollen: Stollen, Germany’s Christmas dessert, is a kind of fruit cake-bread made with dried fruits, nuts and spices. It is served sprinkled with powdered sugar.

– Sausage Types: You can find many different types of sausages made of spicy, cheesy, vegan, red or white meat at Christmas markets.

– Pretzel: A traditional German pretzel that can be salty or sweet.

– Maroni (chestnut): Roasted chestnuts are a popular snack, especially on cold winter days.

– Waffles: Freshly baked waffles, usually garnished with chocolate, fruit or toffee.

– Chocolate and Chocolate Covered Fruits: At the Christmas markets, chocolate-covered fruits such as strawberries, bananas, orange slices or snacks such as nuts are waiting for you.

– Glühwein: Mulled wine with spices and fruits. Glühwein glasses are usually sold with a deposit. The deposit, called ‘Pfand’ in German, can be returned when you bring the glass back, but you may want to keep the glass as a souvenir 

– Gebrannte Mandeln: Roasted Sugared Almonds
